In the summertime of 1839, on a stormy nighttime off the seashore of Republic of Cuba, 53 African keep confined in the cramped lading keep of the Spanish slave ship La Amistad interrupt free of their shackle. Led by five, they arm themselves, take control of the ship and repossess their freedom. They have got one end: to return to Africa.
