In Katmandu, Kingdom of Nepal, the magician Kaecilius and his Zealot come in the secret compound Kamar-Taj and slay its librarian, keeper of antediluvian and mystic text. They steal a ritual from a book belonging to the antediluvian One, a magician who has populate for an unknown clip and teach all at Kamar-Taj, include Kaecilius, in the shipway of the mysterious humanistic discipline. The antediluvian One prosecute the traitor, but Kaecilius escape with the page and some of his following.
