The movie is set in universe War II when the USS Haynes, an American guided missile destroyer bodyguard detect a German submarine in the South Atlantic Ocean. A lifelessly duel between the two ship ensues, and Captain Murrell must pull upon all his experience to get the better of the experient German commanding officer.
