During the height of the Aztec Empire, tragedy strikes young Yohualli Coatl when his father is brutally killed by Spanish conquistadors. Determined to prevent further devastation, Yohualli sets out on a dangerous journey to Tenochtitlán to warn King Moctezuma and his high priest, Yoka, of the looming threat. Under the guidance of his mentor in the temple of the bat god Tzinacan, he hones his skills, crafting weapons and specialized equipment to prepare for the Spanish invasion and to seek justice for his father’s murder. Along the way, he encounters formidable allies and enemies, including the fierce Jaguar Woman and the infamous conquistador Hernán Cortés, each encounter shaping his path toward vengeance, courage, and the defense of his people’s homeland.
