Busan’s Asian Contents & Film Market has selected Japan as the 2026 Focus Country for its Producer Hub, bringing 10 Japanese producers to Busan for pitching sessions, case studies and networking meetings.

The Asian Contents & Film Market in Busan has selected Japan as the 2026 Focus Country for its Producer Hub, placing Japanese film production and international collaboration at the center of this year’s industry program.

The Producer Hub is designed to connect producers from different countries and create opportunities for international co-production, financing and professional exchange. The program was launched in 2024 and selects a Focus Country each year to highlight its producers, projects and industry trends.

As part of the 2026 edition, 10 Japanese producers will travel to Busan to participate in pitching activities, case studies and speed meetings with international industry professionals. The program is intended to encourage new partnerships between Japanese producers and potential collaborators from Asia and other markets.

Japan’s selection follows Canada’s role as the Focus Country in 2025. That edition featured a Canadian delegation and programs focused on co-production, networking and the expansion of international partnerships.

The 2026 Producer Hub will take place from Oct. 10 to 13 at BEXCO in Busan as part of the Asian Contents & Film Market. The market is scheduled to bring together international film and audiovisual industry professionals for business meetings, networking and various industry programs.

The Japan-focused program is expected to provide Japanese producers with greater access to Asian and international partners while giving participants from other territories an opportunity to explore potential collaborations with Japan’s film industry.
